Hey Maria!

Since Mikael forgot to bring your star, I thought I'd at least put a picture of it here so you can start enjoying it. Merry Christmas!

Lucia woo hoo action

Mikael and I wish everyone a glad Lucia Day!

I highly recommend you try to make some of these traditional Swedish Lucia Buns. Saffron is the key ingredient. I think you should be successful with this recipe here. It looks similar to the one I used this year with stunning results, only in American measurements. (If your saffron comes in strands, bash it into bits before you put it in the dough so it spreads out more evenly).

If you want to see the lovely Lucia Day concert from Swedish TV for this year, you can watch it here.

Lucia day is also special to Mikael and I because it is the day two years ago when we got married the first time.

Laura and Mikael rushed to the courthouse on December 13 (lucia day) to get married so they could use the certificate to apply for Mikael's visa.
